With the new year nearly here you might be thinking of ways you can improve your online presence. We have taken the time to find the top ways you can improve your online presence in 2021. Take a look at our list below.

  1. Sign Up To Social Media

If your business is not on social media then we recommend this being one of the first steps you take next. Social media is a big part of how companies conduct business online today. Consider starting with one of the leading platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, twitter or more recently Tiktok. Being on social media allows your business to reach new potential clients in an instant by running ads and sharing your page. Don’t forget to link up your website so your customers can find you easily. Try and limit the amount of social media pages to at least 2 any more and you might come overwhelmed with the upkeep and replying to customers from various places.

  1. Get In Touch With An Influencer

Now you are all set up with your social media accounts, you could consider contacting a social media influencer. A social media influencer is someone who has a large following on social media, if you send them your product they might share it to their page which in turn will drive more customers to your business. You can also offer to pay influencers to share your product but they will have to make sure they tell their followers it was a paid promotion. Find influencers that are in keeping with your branding for example you wouldn’t send your make-up product to an online gamer as it wouldn’t make sense for them to promote it.

  1. Rebrand Your Website

Take a look at your website and decide whether it is up to date with modern design or is in need of some rebranding. The key to a good website is making it sleek and simple. Don’t over complicate it as by doing this customers will feel lost and not want to return. Limit the amount of colours you use to 3 or 4 and ensure they don’t clash. If you are wanting to create your own website then platforms such as Wix or WordPress are great for novices, they allow you to choose from a variety of different templates to match your business aesthetic. For more complex and unique designs consider hiring a Web agency to design your new website for you.

  1. Get Reviews

Having visible reviews for potential customers to read will help draw traffic to your site. Encourage your existing customers to leave reviews on your site or on review sites such as Trustpilot, Yelp or Google Reviews. Being able to read good reviews will help the customer decide on whether to use your company and know if your website is trustworthy.

  1. Work With Other Local Businesses

Find local businesses that are in a similar field to you but not a competitor, if they have a good online presence think about doing a collaboration with them.

  1. Run Some Online Ads

As well as running ads on social media platforms you should consider advertising on search engines such as google. Google Local Services ads are a great way to encourage potential customers in your local area to visit your site. They use data from cookies to match your business up with customers who have searched for something similar in the past, then use that information to create an advert for them which with one click leads them to your website.

  1. Learn About SEO

It is a good idea to get up to date with SEO, also known as search engine optimization. To improve your ranking on search engine results you should do some research on incorporating keywords into your site. Keywords are words that customers use when searching for a product, service or information online. You shouldn’t be too specific with your keywords but also not too vague. There are a few keyword tools you can use online to help you determine what keywords are best to use for your site. Ensure that they flow naturally in the website’s dialogue so not to be obvious.

  1. Put Your Business On Online Directories

You might think that directories are outdated however they are still around they have just been moved online. Online directories such as Yellow pages, Bing Places and Google my Business are all popular sites you can direct your customers to leave reviews about your business on.
