What about Winter Workouts?

The winter time is on its way, and that means snuggling up by the fire and laying there until the sun comes back next year. And although there is nothing wrong with doing that, it doesn’t mean that you can slack in the exercise department.

If you want to maintain your weight and stay healthy, then it’s important you regularly exercise.

Here are some winter workouts you can try:

Hidden at home.

It’s understandable that a lot of you may not want to go outside to work out, and this is fine, there are plenty of exercises that you can do at home to keep you in shape. If you don’t already have a resistance band – get one. This will just add that extra bit of intensity if you want it. When doing squats or lunges, for example, you can stretch it around your legs, and it will push you that little bit further to target those key areas. Another great exercise that you can do indoors is planking. You can do this practically anywhere, and it’s a great trick to target the love handles. Lace up.

Ice skating is an awesome way to embrace the winter while having a blast. You can even invite your friends and family down to share the fun with you. Skating is actually a brilliant form of exercise because it tones up the legs, butt, and even your core, while teaching your body to be more balanced and have better coordination. Don’t worry if you’ve never done it before though, you can start off slow and hold the wall all the way around until you get comfortable and start to adapt – and you will, because our bodies are clever like that. Then you can start picking up the pace and working all those muscles.

Jump on it.

Okay, so you may be thinking this sounds rather childish, and it may be (kinda), but there are now trampoline classes where you go and meet with a group of like-minded people and a very enthusiastic instructor who will get your heart racing, your blood pumping, and your smile beaming. You will all have your own trampoline in which you perform actions and move just like the instructor does, but this is all combined with loud, funky music that gives you that extra positivity, motivation, and excitement. This is an excellent form of cardio, and you can expect to burn a lot of fat and calories in every session.

Zen out.

If you’ve been feeling particularly stressed recently, then what better way to keep fit while clearing your mind, body, and soul? This is a wonderful way of releasing any feelings of fear, anxiety, and depression, while strengthening your core, along with many other areas of your body. You will also greatly improve your flexibility and balance over time, as well as your focus, concentration, and drive. It’s all about breathing in the positive, and exhaling all the negative, until you’re left with a happier, freer mind. Let alone a magnificent, toned body.
