With the cost of living on the rise, it’s never been a better time to figure out how you can earn some money on the side. It could be that you want to save some extra money for an event like a wedding or moving house, or you might just want some extra cash on the side. No matter what it is, luckily there are a host of opportunities for you to do it. In this blog post, we have a look at a few ideas you can utilize for a side hustle and how you can make a bit of extra money on the side.

Start a blog

A blog is a great way to earn some extra cash and also write about things that you are passionate about. You could write about anything from parenting to fashion, beauty, or money. Blogging can take a while for you to make a regular income, but once you have established yourself you can earn through sponsored posts, ads, and partnerships, among other things. It’s important to get your SEO sorted and use a good program such as WordPress which makes it easy for you to keep on top of it.

Do some photography

If you have always been good at photography and really enjoyed it, why not look to make some money from it? If you want to try and make it into a business, you should figure out what you need to earn an hour and work it out for this. For example, you need to work out how much an hour is $50,000 a year or $20,000 a year depending on what it is that you want to earn. This way you can work out a good hourly rate and how many clients you need in order to succeed and make the money you are aiming for.

Sell home made items on Etsy

If you are a creative person who is very into their arts and crafts, it can be a great idea to sell your wares on sites such as Etsy or through your own website. This could be anything from personalized stationery, to ornaments or artwork – the choice is down to you! Just make sure you set your prices fairly, basing them on how long it takes you to do the work, what you need to spend on your resources, and how you can make a profit. You also need to factor in postage costs.

These are just a few things you can do as a side hustle that will help you to top up your earnings on the side. Try to put what you make into a separate savings account so they are there when you need them. You could be surprised at just how much you manage to earn on top of your earnings from your job. Just be sure to pay any tax on your additional earnings. Have you got any side hustles? If so, what are they? Let us know what you do and any tips!
