Use your Talents & Influence

Consider what you’re good at and what you do each day at your job. There’s probably some way how your skills are desired in the community. If you’re good at teaching, go volunteer to teach kids at a school or hire a student to intern for you. Using your connections and positions of influence is a great way to help out your surrounding areas. Don’t sell yourself short. Your abilities are wanted outside of your day job too.

Provide A Warm Meal

Volunteer to bring those who are in need of food a warm meal. Sign up with a service that goes to different homes, or commit a few hours through your church. The recipients will appreciate you giving your time to help them. There are different ways and opportunities to feed those in need. Do what works best in your schedule. It’s a great way to meet others in your neighborhood and community. It’s possible you’ll build strong relationships with some of those around you if you volunteer on a consistent basis.

There’s nothing wrong with donating your money if you don’t have the time to volunteer right now. There are wonderful causes like the PCRF who depend upon your generosity for research and hope. Your support is what keeps the kids fighting and gives them a quality of life. Your money goes towards great causes that allow these organizations and support systems to function. Your donation is a noble gesture that touches the lives of many. Research different causes and see which ones strike a chord with you.

Practice Daily Kindness

Each day you have the opportunity to make a difference in your community. While at the gym, grocery store and at work. A kind gesture, a warm hello and laughter are all ways to touch the lives of others. Be nice to each other and help one another out in public. This is what giving back is all about in the first place. It’s a human interaction and connection that makes you feel good inside. Don’t be that person who’s grumpy and ruins someone’s day. Be the individual who opens doors and says thank you.

Don’t overthink the concept of giving back. It’s a personal choice that has to make you feel motivated to help. These are different ways to make an impact in your community.
