How often do you miss a workout because you can’t find the time or the motivation? Most of us make excuses when it comes to exercise. The trouble is that a day off can easily turn into a week or a month or a year off. If you’ve got health goals, there’s no such word as can’t. Here are some easy ways you can overcome fitness obstacles and hit those targets.

I can’t find the time to work out

Do you work long hours or are you a parent struggling to find a minute to work out during the day? Many of us have hectic lives, but you can always find time to fit in a short workout session. Even if you can only manage 15 minutes, it’s beneficial to get your body working.

If you have a full-time job, try getting up half an hour earlier and walk or cycle to work instead of driving or start earlier, finish earlier and go for a jog, a swim or a brisk walk after work. If you have a gym close to the office, you could also fit a session in at lunch time.

If you choose activities like spinning or high-intensity interval circuits, you can work up a sweat and burn loads of calories in just 30 minutes. You can then shower and get back to work without having to stay any later than normal.

Another really effective solution for a lack of time is working out at home. If you spend a lot of time at home looking after your kids or you can’t wait to get back home after work, you could consider buying some equipment to use at home or even investing in a few workout DVDs.

You can fit workouts in around your schedule, and you won’t have to worry about wasting time sitting in traffic on your way to the gym. If you’re thinking about buying some new equipment, you should definitely read these reviews of the bestselling Confidence Vibration Machine and check out some reviews of other machines that take your fancy, such as exercise bikes or treadmills. If you’re not desperate to have equipment in pristine condition, you may be able to find used items for bargain prices online.

It’s too expensive to join the gym

Most of us think about the gym when people mention getting fit, but you don’t have to be a member of the gym to work out. There are loads of more affordable options if budget is a concern. Working out at home can be very cheap, and you can also go walking, jogging and cycling for free. Don’t forget about hiking – you can almost forget you’re exercising while taking in the views – I like to plan big hikes with friends and families on Sundays!

If you go to classes, rather than paying for a membership, you can pay as you go, which means that you won’t waste money if you can’t make every session. You could also create your own circuits in the backyard using equipment like jump ropes, dumbbells, and ladders. You don’t need to spend loads to get fit.

If you’ve been putting off training because you haven’t got the time or the money, these tips should come in handy. There’s always a way to overcome fitness obstacles, so start saying that you can workout and banish the word can’t from your vocabulary.
