Continue reading to learn four overlooked checklist items to remember when moving into a new home.

Cleaning Supplies

Everyone dreams of that moment when they take their first step into their new home. The floors are sparkling, the closets are nice and organized and the toilets are spick-and-span. Then, you come to the realization that this is not the case.

In most cases, the house you’re moving into isn’t in its top form. Even if the previous owners of the house cleaned up before leaving, there are bound to be a few dust bunnies and spots that need tidying up. Of course, with all the packing and commuting, it’s easy to forget your cleaning supplies.

Toolbox

No matter what you’re in the middle of, always remember that you have your toolkit ready to go. In fact, it’s highly likely that you’re going to need the toolbox within the first week in your new house.

Although it may not be time to hang up your family photos, you’re probably going to need to use simple tools such as a utility knife or a measuring tape. Can you imagine moving into your new house and not being able to repair your garage remote, so you’re forced to get a garage remote replacement?

Fire Extinguisher

Obviously, during the first night in your new home, you’re going to be cooking a celebratory dinner. Even the best of chefs run have accidents in the kitchen, so imperative that you have a fire extinguisher on hand.

Chargers

Last, but most certainly not least, do not forget your arsenal of chargers. These little guys can easily be accidentally thrown in a random bag or box. Just make a mental note to put everyone’s chargers in a labeled box, so that way you won’t have to go through the first week in your new house without a phone or computer.

Even if you’re not taking the items with you, it’s still possible that the moving company you hired forgot something. Always make sure that you label everything so you don’t have to worry about accidentally leaving something behind.
