Key Personality Traits for Happiness

A previous article about treating yourself and living in the moment ignited a lot of positive responses. Not many of us are used to making the most out of every day and living in the moment. That’s because we’re taught to save the best for special occasions and only let go at the right times. Worry not, because this is a habit that can be changed.

By developing several key personality traits and strengthening your self-awareness, you can actually have a better ability to enjoy life. You’ll start making better decisions and have a better view of life in general. If you’re eager to get started, here are some of the important traits you need to develop.

Focus

A lot of us have a hard time focusing on the things that matter. We get distracted by noises and unimportant things. Trust me, I know how tempting it is to spend hours arguing on the internet over small matters than to actually go out and enjoy life. This is where having good focus comes in handy.

A better focus is something you can develop in a relatively short amount of time. You just need to remind yourself every now and then. I started using the 5-second method a while back and it has been working. Whenever I find myself stressed out over small things, I count from one to five and tell myself that there are better, more fun things to do.

You can choose a method that works for you based on your personal preferences. Just pay closer attention to the things you do and how they make you feel; you’ll be able to direct your focus on to the positive things in life.

Confidence

Confidence is another important trait to have, especially if you’re serious about making the most out of your wonderful life. With a high level of self-confidence, you’ll start taking chances, be more in control, and able to do things better.

Similar to focus, there are plenty of ways to develop self-confidence. Some prefer activities such as regular exercise. Others rely on fashion and makeup. There is even a growing trend of working with OB/GYNs such as David Ghozland and getting a vaginoplasty.

It doesn’t matter how you get there; what matters is that you’re doing it for yourself. The more confident you feel, the better you will be at enjoying the great things in life.

Drive

Some call it passion; others call it spirit. It’s really the same thing. You need to feel driven to start making bold moves and enjoying life more. This is an easy trait to develop, especially since there are so many achievements just waiting to be conquered.

Do you want to travel the world? Start working on saving enough for an extended holiday. Do you have a position you’ve been aiming for? Go back to school and earn a master’s degree to boost your career. All of these goals can be achieved with the right spirit.
