Giving Tuesday Winter Warmth Drive

Our Family Service Project for #GivingTuesday was a Success! Thank You!

As you know, my family held a Winter Warmth Drive as a way to give back to our community and in celebration of #GivingTuesday on December 3rd. It was a wonderful success and we would like to express our most sincere gratitude and appreciate to everyone that donated and helped in other ways.

A total of 175 new and “in great condition” coats, hats and gloves were donated, and are being delivered to the Community Bible Church just in time for the cold weather and holidays. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of this community up to 60 people will receive a new coat and hat with many also receiving scarves, gloves, mittens, boots and other winter items. We are so grateful and humbled by the generosity and kindness so many people have shown with donations for this project that will help our community members in need. Thank you so much for your donations and support!!

A special note of thanks is also given to Mom It Forward for the inspiration to do this project, Debra Thornblad, The Berlin Daily Sun, The Union Leader and WMUR  for providing media coverage, and to the faculty and staff at White Mountains Community College for both putting out donation boxes and filling them, Edward Fenn School  which donated a number of brand new children’s coats, Diane, Preston and Sam for helping us sort, Sylvie for making some special delivers and especially the Community Bible Church for their time, efforts and means in getting these items to those that need them.

From all of us to all of you, our sincerest thanks and Happy Holidays!

Keep On Giving

While this coat drive has come to a close the need for giving this season has not. We were saddened to hear that the Toys for Tots program in NH is far from meeting its demand this year. Please consider dropping a new toy in one of their collection boxes available at many stores, business and schools in the area. You can also donate to Toys for Tots online and designate which chapter you want your donation to go to. If you are in my area visit Toys for Tots’ site here

I also just launched a small fundraiser to provide one family in need with a great Christmas! I’m asking friends, family, anyone, to consider donating as little as $1 so that together we can all give the gift of Christmas!
