Mentoring Through Music

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County (BBBSBC) is proud to announce the release of a new children’s CD, “Absolutely, Positively Getting Along”. The 27 track compilation CD features national and international artists, including Pete Seeger and Lorre Wyatt, Julian Lennon, Robbi K and Bakithi Kamulo, Melba Moore, and Eric Bazilian, to name a few. Consisting of poems, spoken words, and a variety of songs, this one-of-a-kind CD gives children the sage advice they need to learn to be a buddy, feel connected, and build friendships. The musicians, actors, and poets involved with this project act as audio “Big Brothers and Big Sisters” to children everywhere.

The album’s message mirrors the work being done mentoring children by hundreds of volunteer Big Brothers and Big Sisters nationally. Each recording track covers a different topic, some showcasing popular activities enjoyed by “Bigs” and their “Littles” such as bowling and fishing, others cover conflict resolution and appreciating life’s special moments. All are brought to you in a variety of mediums including, folk, rap, rock, poetry and comedy.

“We are honored to be involved in this project,” said Ursula Raczak, CEO of BBBSBC. “Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs have helped so many children over the years.”

“While we are thrilled with the caliber of talent that recorded for us, we are excited to have worked with Grammy award winning producers Steve Pullara, Jim Cravero, Gloria Domina, and Patrick Robinson on this project,” continued Raczak.

“All of the artists involved in this project see the need for long term mentoring programs,” said Jim

Cravero, East Coast Recording Studio. “As producers, it’s always amazing to see a project come

together with so many talented people all geared towards sending a great message to today’s children.”

This CD was done on a fully volunteer basis. 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County.
