Erica R. Buteau has an extensive background in Social Media and Public Relations Measurement, including the use of both quantitative and qualitative metrics with a special focus on the nonprofit industry. She has spent nearly a decade providing clients with the insight and knowledge they need to not just measure the effectiveness of their communications efforts, but to help them make better, more informed decisions for their organizations.

Before branching out on her own, Erica led a number of award-winning measurement programs (2010 Excellence in New Communications Award, 2009 PR News Platinum Award Finalist, 2008 Jack Felton Golden Ruler of Measurement Certificate of Merit). Erica also created the industry recognized “ Benchmarks for Social Media in the Non-Profit Market.” The report compiles the social media activities and results for half a dozen non-profit organizations to provide benchmark numbers by which professional communicators can judge the effectiveness of their social media programs going forward.

Some of Erica’s former nonprofit clients include Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), the United Service Organizations (USO) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). In addition to nonprofit clients, Erica has also developed and/or managed measurement programs for SAS, Facebook, Epson, IKEA, PepsiCo and Tellabs.

Erica is available for consulting on social media, survey development through implementation and analysis as well as measurement on a smaller, more personal scale with a focus on saving start-ups and non-profits a substantial amount of their PR Budget.
