As a business owner, you will look for ways to increase your profits or reduce costs. The more money you make, the more you can reinvest into your company, and therefore you both can grow. But finding business isn’t easy, whether online or in the real world. However, while online marketing techniques are primarily used to increase website traffic, some can be useful to increase the footfall of your real-world business.

Blogging or Vlogging

You might have heard of blogging or vlogging, and they are nothing new. Blogging is short for “weblog” and is simply a written communication between a writer and a reader. Each subsequent addition to a blog is called a post. Vlogging is short for video logging and is, as you probably guessed, blogging in video format. YouTubers are a prime example of successful vloggers. While each technique is straightforward in principle, they require a lot of time and dedication to become widely recognized.

However, this shouldn’t put you off. Blogging or vlogging can gain exposure for your company, which in turn means more business. Many companies offer a blog or vlog on their company website. It is best practice to write or talk about something related to your business. In conjunction with search engine optimization (SEO), these can boost online and real-world traffic. Real-world traffic can be increased if you register with Google and implement local SEO.

Social Media Promotions

Of course, unless you have lived under the proverbial rock for the past 10 years, you know what social media is. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are good examples of the most widely used socials on the web. Unfortunately, some have been the subject of much negative press over the past couple of years. But love them or loathe them, social media can be a boon to a business if used properly.

You can use social media to your advantage very quickly. For example, when you place ads, you can configure them for specific demographics. This means tailor-made ads by gender, age range, and locale. Therefore, your ads will appear to people who live within a specified perimeter to your physical establishment. Additionally, you can create a group for your business as a local company and engage with customers personally via your business page.

Prospective Emails

The oldest yet perhaps the most effective method for gaining physical traffic is by using email marketing. Email marketing has been around since the invention of the web itself in 1989 by Tim Berners Lee. Today, prospective emails are part of any comprehensive and sound digital marketing strategy. Like real-world mail such as flyers and pamphlets, you can use digital assets such as GIFs, JPGs, and BMPs in HTML-coded emails. These are attractive and full of information when correctly designed. And you don’t need a website or blog to develop them.

Email marketing can be used to build a client list and inform those clients of promotions and new products. You could also consider monthly or weekly newsletters to keep customers up-to-date with your operations. If used correctly, emails are cost-effective since they are cheap to produce, reach a mass audience, and share. However, there is a chance that mass emails are checked as spam by mail clients and ignored.
