Parenting is a huge responsibility and a privilege, and it is your biggest adventure. When you become a parent, you are suddenly thrust into a whole new world, a new role, and all without a handbook. It can be easy to get lost in the day to day of it all, which is why today we want to share with you 3 things that every parent should remember.

They really do grow so fast

How many times as parents do we hear these words? We know, but it does need repeating here as they really do grow so fast.

This point is two-fold, as some days we need to hear this to reassure us and others we need to hear it to remind us.

There are often phases in our children’s lives, things that they will do that they soon grow out of. The problem is that whilst they are working their way through a challenging phase, it can feel like forever! Many parents can recount tales of when their little one woke in the night every night for a few months and many parents can recount tales of their son refusing to eat his vegetables. These kinds of things happen in most families, but they are just phases, they will soon grow out of them.

On the other side of the coin, they really do grow so fast so enjoy these years while you can, even the more challenging times. You might not relish having to sleep with your daughter after her nightmare, but she won’t be asking to cuddle up to mommy through the night in a few years time. Before you know it, she’ll be a teenager and getting ready for college and these nights will be in the dim and distant past.

There are plenty of experts out there that can help

Whatever the problem is that you are facing, you need to remember that there are plenty of experts out there that can help. It is easy to fall into the trap of feeling isolated as you might not know anyone else in your situation, but rest assured that your issue will not be unique and people can help.

You might need to seek advice from family based lawyers at AGLawNJ.com or perhaps you could do with speaking to a child behaviorist over your child’s anxiety levels. Along with the professionals and experts, there are plenty of parenting forums where you can go to seek advice and reassurance.

Sometimes it can help to find someone else in the same situation, so do get help from the experts if you are having concerns.

We are all just doing our best

While it might look as though Miss A has completely got her act together and that Mrs P is the most fun parent ever, you need to remember that none of us are parenting perfectly. We are all just doing our best, parenting as responsibly as we can.

We do not know what goes on in every home, and we don’t need to. Do not get hung up on the things you don’t feel you do well or comparing yourself to others, just remember that you are doing your best.
