Fight IlliteracyToday is #GivingTuesday, a day dedicated to celebrating and encouraging giving around the world. Last year, people around the world gave an estimated total of over $45 million in charitable donations. Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired people to improve their local communities, donate to charities, and help create a better world.

Today, I’m joining Grammarly’s #GivingTuesday efforts to help fight illiteracy! This year, Grammarly invites you to join the #GivingTuesday movement and help stomp out a truly global problem: illiteracy. A few months ago, in honor of International Literacy Day, Grammarly gathered the latest statistics from around the world to raise awareness about the importance of literacy.

Literacy is an essential skill and human right, yet the numbers show that there are still 757 million adults who can’t read or write a simple sentence.
