It’s very easy for many of us to feel somewhat nervous about the future, first because we cannot predict it, but second because, if the last year is anything to go by, it’s hard to tell when difficulties might arise. Furthermore, after 2020, it’s going to take some time for us to return to normal. It’s not hard to feel somewhat dismayed.

That said, feeling dismayed, while a natural reaction, can be countered if we try it. Looking forward to the future is more than justified if you consider some positive trends that have been helping the world become better than it may have been, while problems are being tackled and noticed around the world.

There are many reasons to take hope in the future, and curating some of this optimism and gratitude can be essential if we’re to live a healthy and fulfilled life. Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to be naive – challenge always lies ahead – but it doesn’t mean that we have to feel hopeless by any measure. Let’s consider what that may mean, from now into the future:

Environmental Programs Are Here & Worthwhile

There are many excellent environmental programs that are here and are growing. From choosesolar community solar farms that helps you integrate solar energy into your monthly utility bills, to governments subsidising electric vehicle development to help us ensure clean roads, to simple soil-and-plant measures used to help absorb carbon emissions alongside motorways, environmental programs are only getting more innovative as time goes on. As long as we all do our part, we can have a very real and positive effect on the environmental difficulties we have been made aware of.

Awareness Is Growing

While it can often seem as though the political situation in many countries is absolutely chaotic and sometimes quite worrying, it’s true that now, like never before, people are able to connect with, read and voice their opinions about stories they see. This has helped certain causes that may have once been buried come to light, while public protests or initiatives can make sure that customers are more empowered to move forward. Think of how an international pandemic may have been responded to prior – now, despite the difficulties we all see, we can be proud of ourselves for using our interconnected voice to mitigate the effects.

Your Voice Matters

Your voice matters, and that may not be something you have really internalized. Of course, some people take this too literally and spend their time arguing with other people on Twitter all day, and while that’s totally your right to do, it’s not healthy. Instead, using your voice to speak up for issues in your community, or to promote certain causes, or to help out where you can, or to simply help your friends and family become aware of issues that are important to you can make a big difference going forward. In this respect, you can feel much more empowered.

With this advice, we hope you can feel more optimistic for the future. Doing so can help us live more healthily and with wellness at heart.
