Breakfast may be known as the most important meal of the day, but I would argue that it’s lunch. Lunch is there to give you more energy midway through your work day and provide the nutrients your body needs to function. However, too many people wind up getting fast food or eating frozen meals. Try these 4 simple and healthy lunch ideas for working professionals instead.

Salad

There are a number of healthy and nutrient-heavy salads you can make on your own. You can also buy one at a local restaurant if you are so inclined. Start with lettuce and vegetables, but don’t forget to add a protein. You can buy enough ingredients to make salads for every day of the week. Be careful not to include anything deep fried and avoid high calorie dressings.

Adult Lunchables

We all loved Lunchables as kids. Well, you can make your own upgraded Lunchables at home with the right ingredients. Visit the local deli to get different meats and cheeses. Don’t forget crackers. You can also include additional snacks such as fruit or chocolate-flavored pretzels. You can customize different packs for each day of the week so that you don’t get bored.

Kaiser Roll Sandwiches

Get a pack of Kaiser rolls and use them to create sandwiches with different lunch meats or even hamburger. You can get a variety of different types of Kaiser rolls. For example, some have sesame seeds or fun flavors. You can also get a snack pack of chips to pack with your sandwich.

Fiesta Bowl

Create a homemade fiesta bowl for yourself. Start with some rice and beans. Add some tomatoes and corn. You can also include grilled peppers or onions. Add shrimp, chicken, or steak. Top with some salsa. Avoid too much cheese and sour cream if you want to watch your weight.

Salmon and Vegetables

Salmon may not be every person’s favorite smell in the break room, but it’s filled with vitamins. It’s also low in calories. bake it in the oven and top it with a balsamic glaze. Add some lemon for additional flavor. Cook up some vegetables to put n the side, and you’ll be all set.
