If you have decided it’s time to shed some pounds, now is a better time than any to start. Whether you’re flying solo, or have some friends who want to join you, there are many great classes out there to join, that also bring like-minded people together. You may even make some new friends!

Here is a list of the most popular ways to keep fit in classes so far this year.

Spinning

If you like to cycle, love music and enjoy getting hot and sweaty, then you should definitely sign up for a spinning class. This fast paced workout is open to all, whether you’re brand new or have been attending for a while. If you prefer to train alone, why not buy yourself a bike and workout in the comfort of your own home? You can find the best spin bike reviews here: https://exercisebikesexpert.com/

Whatever you decide, just make sure you keep a water bottle at hand as you will need to keep hydrated!

Zumba

One of the funnest ways to exercise is through dance. That’s why when Zumba come to our attention, people just couldn’t get enough. It’s a mixture of salsa dancing and aerobics that is put into easy routines for people to follow. The workout targets your whole body, as it burns calories through cardio. Not only will it strengthen your core muscles, but it will even improve your flexibility.

Clubbercise

Similar to Zumba, there is a lot of dancing involved, but this class is on a whole other level. To put it simply, it’s pretty much a nightclub that people go to to get fit. Lights off, glow sticks out, and bodies at the ready.

If you get a little self conscious about participating in group classes, this may be the thing to take you out of your shell – it’s too dark to feel paranoid! Everyone is in the same boat here, jumping around to funky music, sweating off fat, and enjoying every second of it.

Water aerobics

Water works as a great resistance, so if you are looking for a way to tone up your entire body, then this is for you. If you’ve ever tried running through a swimming pool, you will understand how it works. Your body has to fight against the force of the water, which creates resistance. So imagine trying to do your usual aerobics in the pool! It will be twice as hard, if not more. But you’ll also feel weightless at the same time.

It’s a strange one, but you should try it out.

Circuit training

If you’re one to get bored or doing the same thing over and over again, take a circuit training class. It’s a variation of exercises that you do one after the other. So you may start by jumping rope for two minutes, and then quickly move onto boxing for one minute, then jumping straight into some squats and so on, with minimal rest in between. This will keep your heart racing, and increase your muscle endurance over time.

DDP Yoga
If you’ve been around for a while you know that one of my personal favorite ways to keep fit is through DDP Yoga. This is what I do a minimum of three times per week. The workouts are available on DVD’s as well as on the DDP Yoga Now app If you’re lucky enough to be in Atlanta, you can even go take classes at the DDPY Performance Center, potentially even in a class led by Diamond Dallas Page himself!
